Sadly, Josette Amato passed away on August 31, the same day that Princess Diana, the queen of hearts, was tragically killed in a car accident in 1997. Coincidence? No.

Josette was, without a shadow of doubt, the queen of hearts to all who were fortunate to know her. I will never forget the day my late husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Irrespective of her numerous responsibilities, which at the time were overwhelming in her life, Josette was completely relentless in her support towards me. Her daily telephone calls, encouragement and positivity kept me grounded throughout my ordeal. She would turn up on several occasions holding a beautiful bunch of flowers and just tell me “because you deserve it”.

These precious moments in my life will be irreplaceable.

Thank you, Josette.

Josette’s zest for life was insatiable. I can recall several ‘girlie’ boat trips that she used to organise... her agenda for these outings pivoted around everybody: “we’re going to have a good laugh”.

Believe me, we all did.

I can vividly remember getting on the boat. I can remember having loads of fun but can seldom remember getting off the boat.

That was Josette in her element. The party planner.

Our sincere condolences are extended to her husband, Edward, and her children, Angie and Michael, her mother, Ethel, her brother, Claude, and her sisters, Mary and Monique, and their respective families including numerous members of the Muscat family, who treasured her unconditionally.

Gone but never forgotten dear cousin, friend and sister who has enriched the lives of so many. Au revoir, Josette, forever our queen of hearts. May you rest in peace.
