With the installation of a new digital cinema projector the Don Bosco Oratory now has the only operational cinema in Gozo.

The oratory said the €70,000 investment in the project, which includes a new Dolby Surround 7.1 system, would complement the pastoral care it offers to children, adolescents and families. To install the digital cinema projector, restructuring and refurbishment work was also undertaken at the theatre during summer.

The digital equipment will be officially inaugurated on September 20 by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and Gozo Minister Anton Refalo. This will be followed by a screening of the film Noah at 7.45pm.

Films will be screened once again in Gozo as from on Saturday with two films on the occasion of the Children Cinema Day. The film Free Birds and The Legend of Hercules will be screened at 6pm and 8pm respectively. The Amazing Spiderman 2 will be screened next Sunday at 6pm.

In addition to the usual Sunday show at the oratory a second film screening will be added every Saturday at 8.30pm, mainly for adults and adolescents.

Anyone who would like to help the oratory to meet the expenses of this investment may call Oratory director Fr Effie Masini on 2155 6616 or 9948 7751.
