Angelina Jolie has lifted the lid on what her recent family holiday involved, and spoken about her and husband Brad Pitt's beach-based fears.

The star has just married long-term partner Brad. They are currently in Malta for the shooting of the film By the Sea.

In an OK! interview issued today but given shortly before the secret wedding took place, she revealed what it had been like to take some family time out while filming the upcoming Unbroken in Australia earlier this year.

The mum of six said: "My kids learned to surf, even though Daddy didn't want to know when they were in the water because he has a shark phobia."

At the time, Brad was filming his own upcoming movie, Fury, in England.

Angelina continued: "I spent many nights sleeping in Taronga Zoo and we were all dressed as animals. The kids wanted us to match so by the end of the night, everybody had animal onesies on."

She went on: "I taught my kids to swim very early because I have a fear of drowning - I am paranoid about water. It happens a lot in LA. It's been a long time since I have swum in the ocean. Our lives get too full and we forget to enjoy a big swim in the ocean."
