Masquerade is synonymous with performing arts training and performance. At 17, it has a matured far beyond its teenage years and this ever-growing organisation has throughout maintained its commitment to quality and student care.

The opening of M Space has cemented Masquerade’s position at the forefront of the arts in Malta.

Masquerade offers something for everyone. For younger students (Ages 3-4/5-6/7-9 years) there are classes in drama, dance and singing. For those who want to enjoy movement and develop their dance skills, there is a wide range of classes; ballet, jazz, Spanish, commercial, breakdance and hip-hop. There is also the opportunity to learn an instrument with tuition in guitar and drums or join the rock choir or a martial arts class.

For older children, there are classes in all of the above disciplines in addition to contemporary dance, dancefit, kick boxing, tai chi and power yoga. For those aged 16 and over there are classes in all of the above and a two-year musical theatre course.

And for those wishing to have their achievements recognized, they can focus on a wide range of speech and drama exams (Trinity College London). Masquerade says it has an enviable success rate with Trinity examinations and there are levels available for all abilities.

There are frequent one-off projects and guest residencies by theatre practitioners and performance teachers from all over the world.

Masquerade describes itself the home of arts education in Malta, stressing its quality of teaching and state-of-the-art facilities.

The first 17 years have been characterised by progress and innovation, it says, and Masquerade doesn’t intend to stand still.
