I live in an apartment and share the electricity bill of the common parts, which include a lift, with a young family. Since the lift works on three phase, the service is more expensive than the domestic one.

I hasten to add that for me, the lift is a necessity not a luxury, even though quite expensive to run.

On August 21, I received three bills in one envelope covering the periods January 11 to March 12, March 13 to May 10 and May 11 to July 27 – one bill higher than the next although each covering a three-month period.

What I find excessively unjust and cheeky in these bills (hopefully this letter is brought to the attention of ARMS and of Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi), is that although they were received on August 21, they had to be settled by August 23 – within just two days.

One other thing. Is this the way ARMS and Dr Mizzi are showing their sorrow for the complete black-out we suffered a few days ago? Since I live in Mosta, I am not even entitled to the €25 compensation measure granted by the government even though I suffered unnecessary inconveniences, just as thousands of others did.

I am a pensioner and do not receive any allowances of any sort, visible or invisible.
