I refer to the letter by Matthew Bonett, acting Director of Information for the Nationalist Party (August 21). I expected him to write something like this:

“I can assure Giov. DeMartino that the SMS sent to Franco Debono was sent by mistake. The PN regrets the incident and declares that it has absolutely no intention of approaching Dr Debono nor any other spineless former PN MPs, who made life so miserable for Lawrence Gonzi, for the PN government and for the whole family of PN loyal supporters.”
