The senior national team will be lining up against Slovakia on Thursday at 18.20pm in an away friendly match in preparation for the upcoming Euro 2016 group matches campaign.

In a statement, the Malta Football Association said coach Pietro Ghedin was under no illusion regarding the tough tests which awaited his team in the Euro competition. His squad was partly a work-in-progress outfit, with a number of players being introduced alongside some established names.

No doubt, he will have a hard task ahead against the Slovaks who are determined to show their quality when they face Malta. Tactically, Ghedin will go for an adaptable formation with probable tweaking in the game plan as well as making the necessary changes during the match in order to determine the core of our side in the engagements ahead this season.

"The moment of truth when we will face the tough tests of the Euro 2016 Qualfiiers is only one match away," the MFA said.
