Milan have agreed to sign Giacomo Bonaventura from Atalanta after missing out on Parma striker Jonathan Biabiany.

The Rossoneri had looked poised to sign French forward Biabiany from Parma in a deal that would have seen the Gialloblu receive €4 million euros and a further one million in bonuses.

However, the transfer collapsed after defender Cristian Zaccardo refused to move in the other direction.

Here, Milan quickly opened negotiations with Atalanta for Bonaventura and a deal was completed late in the evening with the Serie A giants bagging the striker for €7 million.

Milan had earlier raised the funds for the deal after they agreed to sell young midfielder Bryan Cristante to Benfica for €6m.
