Karim El Ahmadi has rejoined Feyenoord on a three-year deal from Aston Villa.

The midfielder had been linked with a return to De Kuip – where he played between 2008 and 2012.

El Ahmadi joined Villa from Feyenoord in 2012 for £2 million and made 56 appearances, scoring three goals, for Paul Lambert’s men.

But with the form of Fabian Delph and the emergence of Ashley Westwood and Jack Grealish the Moroccan would have found his first team chances limited this season and Villa have now confirmed his exit.

Van Ginkel seals Milan loan move

New Milan signing Marco van Ginkel is thrilled to have moved to the San Siro on a season long-loan from Chelsea.

Van Ginkel completed a medical yesterday.

“A lot of Dutch players have played in this great club, big names. I’m just happy to be finally here,” he said.

“I spoke to Nigel De Jong and he told me very good things about Milan.”

Van Ginkel moved to Chelsea from Vitesse last summer but missed most of the 2013-14 campaign with a knee injury.

Dutch lose trio for internationals

Arjen Robben, Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Rafael van der Vaart have withdrawn from the Dutch squad for international matches against Italy and Czech Republic.

Robben has an ankle injury, Huntelaar is sick and Van der Vaart a muscle strain. All three players are Bundesliga-based.

Attacking midfielder Luciano Narsingh, of PSV, who has scored twice in seven international appearances, has been called up as cover as the squad numbers for the two away matches have been cut from 25 to 23.

The Dutch play a friendly against Italy in Bari on Thursday and then go to Prague for their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against the Czechs next Tuesday.

Bayern snatch Kurt

German champions Bayern Munich signed talented 18-year-old midfielder Sinan Kurt, luring him away from Borussia Moen-chengladbach with a four-year contract.

Kurt, an attacking midfielder who is considered among the most talented young players in Germany and is an Under-19 international, was Bayern’s third signing in a week.

Gladbach were unwilling to sell him but the player, whose contract ran to 2016, had repeatedly said he wanted to move to Munich.

Defender Mehdi Benatia and midfielder Xabi Alonso have also been signed as Bayern look to fill the gaps left by a string of injured players, including Bastian Sch-weinsteiger and Javi Martinez.

De Guzman makes perfect Napoli start

Jonathan de Guzman was delighted after scoring a last-minute winner for Napoli on his Serie A debut at Genoa.

The former Swansea City midfielder came on as a second-half substitute and scored in the fifth minute of injury time to hand Napoli a 2-1 victory at the Luigi Ferraris stadium on Sunday.

De Guzman, who signed from Villarreal this summer, said: “I am over the moon with the goal and the victory. I could not have asked for a better start.

“I want to thank the coach (Rafa Benitez) for giving me the opportunity to play and help the team. We really wanted to win this game especially after our Champions League elimination.

“I understood immediately that we have a fantastic group and a strong side.”

Remy no risk to Chelsea – Redknapp

Loic Remy is no “risk” signing for Chelsea despite failing a medical at Liverpool, according to QPR boss Harry Redknapp.

France striker Remy on Sunday joined Chelsea on a four-year deal, with Redknapp remaining in the dark on why the Reds pulled the plug at the start of the summer.

“He was never a risk – he’s a fit lad. He’s never had a problem, really,” Redknapp said.

“I thought it did really (damage us). It certainly didn’t do us any favours. I don’t know the reasons of what happened with Liverpool. I don’t know why Liverpool didn’t take him.

“If you don’t sign a player, I don’t think you should come out and say he has failed a medical.”

Taider back at Inter

Southampton have terminated Algeria international Saphir Taider’s season-long loan from Inter because the midfielder did not show the right commitment.

“The midfielder joined Saints for the 2014/15 campaign but, having failed to live up to the high levels of commitment ex-pected of Southampton players, that arrangement has been cut short,” the club said.

The 22-year-old joined Saints last month as part of a swap deal that saw Dani Osvaldo head to the San Siro on a year’s loan.

Taider, whose arrival had been met with great optimism after being part of an impressive Algeria squad at the World Cup, made one first-team appearance in a friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.
