The free Breakfast Club service will again be offered this scholastic year from the first day of school, September 22, the government said.

The club initiative was first introduced in all state primary schools on April 1, with schools opening at 7am to enable parents to bring their children in early before going to work allowing them greater flexibility.

In turn children are supervised and provided with a healthy and nutritious breakfast before the school time starts so as to promote a healthy lifestyle among students. This service is being offered free of charge to all those children whose parents work.

During the previous scholastic year, 700 students attended Breakfast Club on a daily basis. In total around 38,500 breakfasts were offered in the schools of Malta and Gozo between April and June.

Parents and guardians are invited to register their children via the online registration form
