At the feast celebrated in Żebbuġ, Gozo, Bishop Mario Grech delivered a very good homily in which he said we are destined to be happy but, sometimes, the festivity of life, the family and so on is ruined either by our actions or those of others. Then he shared with his listeners his worry that the upcoming generation does not know Jesus Christ.

I think that the society of Christian doctrine, MUSEUM, gave and is giving more than a helping hand in this regard. In fact, it was the Holy Father himself who said that Dun Ġorġ is our second apostle in faith after St Paul.

But I have the feeling that some archpriests in Gozo do not practise the principle of subsidiarity when dealing with this society. They do not see it a worthwhile vocation or view it as a lesser vocation than the priesthood. They do not give it their full support, although their centres open daily and they give sound teaching mixed with sports, outings, etc.

Let it be said of every member of the Church to be joyful that Our Lord Jesus Christ is known and loved even if it is not by our efforts (Romans 12: 15; Luke 9: 50; John 3: 30). Let not our egos get in the way of Jesus’s salvation.
