The Malta Floral Club writes:
Marian Harding had a great love for the Malta Floral Club and the club owes much to Marian. She was involved in the club for well over 48 years, practically from its inception.
She first served as secretary and then moved on to being appointed chairwoman, succeeding Rosaleen Wilson, the first chairwoman and founder member of the club.
Marian served as chairwoman for 12 years and then went on to becoming president, a role she held till she passed away.
Her enthusiasm and dedication were overwhelming. Various exhibitions were held under her chairmanship between 1966 and 1978. Of particular mention were Swan Lake and Beauty of the Deep, held in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
However, Marian’s main feat, and for which she will always be remembered, was her success in managing to acquire the club’s premises. She had a special way of handling difficult situations and a solid point of reference for all members.
The committee and members would like to extend their condolences to Marian’s family and will definitely keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
