Obituaries

BUTTIGIEG. On August 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, GRAZIA, aged 86, widow of John, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is deeply mourned by her children Sina and her husband Joe, Francis and his wife Tanya, Carmen and her husband Mario, Anna and her husband George, her grandchildren Analise and her husband David, Suzanne, Etienne, Abigail, Gabriel, Sharon and Steven, her sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral will take place tomorrow with Mass præsente cadavere at 8.30am at Mosta parish church. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CARABOTT. On August 29, at his residence in Fgura, CARMELO, known as Carabott of the newspapers, at the age of 78, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he leaves to mourn his loss wife Ġemma, née Bonnici, his children Patricia and her husband Stephen, Andrew and his wife Sonia, his grandchildren Charlene and her husband Oliver, Elaine and her husband Chris and Dean, his great-grandson Zack, his brothers and sister, Joe, Carmen and Arthur, his in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for the Carmelite parish church, Fgura, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at St Gregory’s cemetery, Żejtun. Lord , grant him eternal rest.

DAWSON. On August 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAUL GEOFFREY, of San Ġwann, aged 59, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Grace née Formosa his sons Matthew, James and William, his sisters Leslie, Cheryl, Yvonne, Maria and Regina and their families in the UK, his sister-in-law Rita and her husband Joseph Farrugia, his brothers-in-law Paul and his wife Doris and Sebastian and his wife Elizabeth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3.15pm for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4pm, followed by interment at Sigġġiewi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Sagra Familja, Żabbar, or Puttinu Cares will be appreciated.

SCIRIHA. On August 28, at Dar tal-Kleru, St Venera, Canon Deacon GIORGIO SCIRIHA, at the venerable age of 101, passed peacefully away surrounded by the love and never failing dedication of all the nuns and carers, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Pio and his family, Josephine, widow of his brother Salvino, his nephews Michael, Victor, Joseph and Paul, his nieces Noella, Adelina and their respective families, other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 10.30am for Maria Bambina Basilica, Senglea, where visitation and a vigil will be held till 2.30pm prior to the celebration of Mass præsente cadavere followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
