Qormi, which is well renowned for its wine-making culture, is once again reviving this centuries-old tradition with a wine festival on September 5 and 6.

The 10th edition of the festival will also feature music and food.

On Friday, the Mark Spiteri Lucas band will hit the main stage just after 9pm with a concert featuring Ludwig Galea, Chiara, Eleonor Cassar and Neville Refalo.

On the second day, the band PlanZero will warm up the crowd from 8pm onwards. Claudia Faniello and her band will then play popular tunes, pop classics and summer hits.

Other bands performing during the festival will include Maltin Biss and DBanned.

There will be local red, white and rosé wines of several grape varieties, provided by Marsovin, and separate wine stalls will be set up along Qormi’s Main Street.

Food stalls will offer traditional Maltese cuisine, including home-made dishes with tuna, pasta, chicken and pork.

Entrance to the festival is free, but those wishing to try out the wines have to purchase a souvenir wine glass, which will be theirs to keep.

Wines will be served until 11.30pm but not to those aged under 17.
