Three members from the Everest Challenge 14 team presented an enlarged photo taken on Mount Everest, showing Express Trailers’ flag and model truck on the mountain’s snowy slopes.

The photo, showing Gregory Attard holding an orange model truck and Raphael Fenech Adami carrying the flag, was presented to the company’s chairman and CEO Franco Azzopardi in the presence of employees.

“Team spirit and sheer determination to make it happen were the main factors that helped us reach the summit,” said Mr Attard, the team leader.

“This is the same team spirit employees at Express Trailers need to keep showing in order to remain a leading transport and logistics company,” he added.

“We are proud to see that Express Trailers ‘made it’ to Mount Everest but, more importantly, that we had the opportunity to support this fine team of Maltese climbers who made Malta proud,” said Mr Azzopardi.

“Our interest in this challenge stemmed from the fact that our business involves reaching destinations, no matter the odds and challenges. This team’s quest to reach its destination was a test of physical and mental fortitude and involved logistical preparation, a reflection of our daily operations,” Mr Azzopardi added.

The Everest team, which also included Douglas Barbaro Sant, became the first group of Maltese climbers to conquer Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain, last May.
