KAVANAGH – PATRICK ANTHONY XXXI, on August 28, at his residence, at the age of 56, after a brief illness bravely borne. Beloved husband of Susan Jenifer Firth Bernard Kavanagh. Also deeply mourned by Susan Joan Chitty, mother of his children Brendan and his wife Rose Ellen, Faye, Poppy, Gabrielle and her husband Tyler, and his grand­children. Greatly missed by many friends and colleagues abroad and in Malta. Particularly special thanks to Dean and Kristina for making his last hours so special and precious, also to Ray Leone Ganado and to his doctor for their care. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. The family regret they cannot receive visitors. In our hearts and thoughts forever.

SCIRIHA. On August 28, at Dar tal-Kleru, St Venera, Canon Deacon GIORGIO SCIRIHA, at the venerable age of 101, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and never failing dedication of all the nuns and carers, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Pio and his family, Josephine, widow of his brother Salvino, his nephews Michael, Victor, Joseph and Paul, his nieces Noella, Adelina and their respective families, other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday, September 1 at 10.30am for Maria Bambina basilica, Senglea, where visitation and a vigil will be held till 2.30pm prior to the celebration of Mass præsente cadavere followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
