Emmy-award nominated casting director Nancy Bishop will be in Malta next month to hold a master class in audition and screen acting technique.

Ms Bishop, an American who fell in love with the island while visiting as a tourist, has cast nearly 100 international film and TV projects from her base in Prague.

She has cast for major feature films including Mission Impossible IV, Roman Polanski’s Oliver Twist, Prince Caspian and The Bourne Identity. Recent credits include Child 44, produced by Ridley Scott and starring Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman, and the recently-released Snowpiercer, featuring Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton.

Ms Bishop said she was pleased to add Malta to the list of countries where she could coach actors in auditioning and film-acting technique.

“I don’t know very many Maltese actors, so this will be an especially interesting trip”, she said.

She had first become interested in the island when Finnish actor, Samuli Edelman, who lives in Malta, sent in his self-taped audition and she cast him in Mission Impossible IV.

She has been giving film acting master classes throughout Europe and the US for many years. She is also the founding head of the Acting for Film Department at the Prague Film School and author of the best-selling book, Secrets from the Casting Couch.

The course in Malta will be held between September 20-22.
