Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba believes his side will once again dominate Serie A this season despite the departure of coach Antonio Conte.

The three-time defending champions open the campaign at Chievo this evening under new boss Massimiliano Allegri.

The former Milan coach replaced Conte, who stepped down this summer to take over Italy’s managerial post.

“Conte had a different style,” Pogba said.

“But this is normal. This doesn’t mean that we cannot also win with Allegri. We are getting to know him and we are working very well with him.

“As for our aims this season, if we play with the same concentration and show the same grit that we have displayed in the past three years, I believe we can continue to win.”

Two teams that are set to present Juve with fierce competition for the scudetto are Roma and Napoli.

The clubs have bolstered their squads in the transfer market over the summer, with former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole one of Roma’s 16 signings.

Napoli, who will not join Juve and Roma in the Champions League group stages after losing their qualifier at Athletic Bilbao earlier this week, have strengthened their attack with the arrival of Michu on a one-year loan from Swansea.

Last season’s runners-up Roma host Fiorentina tonight while Napoli, who finished third last term, begin the season at Genoa tomorrow.

Roma fans hope the club’s efforts in the transfer market this summer will help the team as they look to repeat last season’s impressive campaign.

“We have been preparing for seven weeks and my team can’t wait to play their first official game,” Roma coach Rudi Garcia said.

“The fact that we face a quality team like Fiorentina to start with is great. My job is to make sure my players maintain that hunger they had to win last season.

“We have had to strengthen our squad because we will play 22 games before Christmas and I must have at least two players in each position.”

Filippo Inzaghi’s Milan kick off their campaign on home soil against Lazio buoyed by the capture of striker Fernando Torres from Chelsea.

The Spanish forward is seen by the Rossoneri as the perfect replacement for Mario Balotelli who joined Liverpool in a £16 million transfer deal earlier this month.

Udinese host promoted-side Empoli looking to prove their worth to new coach Andrea Stramaccioni who replaced Francesco Guidolin. The latter stepped down after four years in charge of the Friulani.

Torino begin life without Ciro Immobile when they host Inter tomorrow.

The Italy international, who was last season’s leading scorer in Serie A with 22 goals, was sold to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Palermo gained automatic promotion to the top flight after finishing first in Serie B and the Sicilian outfit start the campaign at home to Sampdoria.

Atalanta and Verona square off in Bergamo, with both sides looking to emulate last season’s results.

Verona finished 10th in the standings, one place and four points clear of their rivals tomorrow.

In remaining action, Sassuolo host Cagliari while Cesena, who return to the top flight after a two-year absence, entertain Parma.
