A number of persons were arrested this afternoon after a big police raid on a number of stables in Marsa yielded heroin, cocaine and cannabis resin.

The police said the raid was carried out after weeks of observation and investigation of drug trafficking.

Today's raid was carried out by officers from the Drug Squad assisted by the Rapid Intervention Unit and District Police.

A number of sniffer dogs from the Dog Section helped in the search and found some drugs stashed away in bathroom equipment.

The drug was found in small packets ready to be sold.

A Magisterial inquiry is being held.
