An assistant head of school and treasurer of the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) has been remanded in custody after being charged with defiling a 10-year-old boy.

Anthony Callus, 46 of Siggiewi,has also been charged with violent indecent assault, harassment and offending public morals.

The incident is alleged to have taken place four days ago in the sea at Bahar ic-Caghaq.

Police inspector Josric Mifsud said accused was playfully lifting the boy out of the sea and held him tightly against his body, including the genital region.

The boy complained to his parents.

Lawyer Arthur Azzopardi requested bail but it was refused until witnesses are heard.
