The Nationalist Party has set up an Oversight Board to monitor its financial and operational performance. The appointment was made after recent amendments to the party statute.

Party leader Simon Busuttil said this was one of the steps to ensure that the party was run on professional lines, both politically and commercially.

“The party is being rebuilt, and it is being rebuilt on firm foundations,” Dr Busuttil said in a party statement.

The board is headed by Franz Wirth while the members are Malcolm Custo’, Isabelle Vella, Eugenio Privitelli and Mario Galea.

Mr Wirth is director of finance and administration in one of the leading IT companies in Malta.
