As part of its ongoing endeavours to support worthy causes, Deloitte has taken up sponsorship of Mark Micallef and the LifeCycle team. Mr Micallef is a Deloitte staff member who will be taking part in the Actavis LifeCycle Challenge 2014 between September 7 and 23.

The Actavis LifeCycle Challenge is an annual fundraising event in which participants cycle a distance of 2,000km in 10 days to raise funds for the Renal Unit at Mater Dei Hospital. This year’s challenge will require participants to cycle from Fukuoka to Tokyo, Japan.

The LifeCycle Organisation was founded in 1999 to create awareness and generate support for patients suffering from end stage renal disease. Since then it has raised millions of euro for the cause, through a combination of sponsorships and donations.

Malcolm Booker, chief executive officer at Deloitte, said: “Deloitte is proud to support such a noble initiative and to contribute towards such a worthy cause. We wish Mark and the rest of the LifeCycle team every success in the challenge.”
