airX, a Malta-based private air charter company, has expanded its fleet with the addition of two Boeing 737 airliners.

The aircraft are configured for executive business charter of larger groups such as music tours, football clubs and government delegations. Both these aircraft will be registered under the Maltese flag.

airX chairman John Matthews said the company has already signed up its first charter client for the new Boeing 737: English Premier League team Southampton FC will be using the aircraft to fly across the UK for their away games.

airX is increasingly becoming the air charter operator of choice for more and more A-list celebrities and VIPs.

“At the last count, our famous passenger list totalled over 100 celebrities and VIPs who fly with airX on repeat business,” he said.

airX has extended its sponsorship of the Malta Airshow for the second year running and rebranded the annual event as the airX Malta International Airshow 2014.

“This support is just one example of our active support to grow Malta’s aviation industry. To date, half our aircraft fly the Maltese registration flag.

“The company will continue to expand its operations in Malta and more airX business jets will be added to the Maltese aviation register over the coming months,” Mr Matthews said.
