BONELLO. On August 18, EMIDIO, at the age of 76, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he is sadly missed by his beloved wife Maria, née Micallef, his daughters Rosette and her husband Charles Farrugia, Lucienne and her husband Dr Evan Camilleri, and Marisa and her husband Christopher Cini, his grandchildren André, Daniel, Gabriele, Mikela and Francesco, his brothers Salvatore and Fr Dominic Bonello, OFM Conv., his sister Annunziata Mamo, his brother-in-law Paul Bilocca, his sister-in-law Rose Micallef, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, August 23, at 8.30am for the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Tarxien cemetery. BUHAGIAR. On August 13, Fr TONY BUHAGIAR, OSA, of Qormi, aged 62, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Fr John Buhagiar, OSA, Frans and his wife Doris and Joe and his wife Polly, his sister Carmen and her husband Fredu, nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends from Malta, Varese, Latina, Terracina and all the parish community of Borgo Hermada, amongst them the Augustinian Fathers of Malta and Italy, the Diocesan Clergy of Żabbar, Terracina and Borgo Hermada, Italy. Fr Tony will be lying in state at the old church of St Sebastian, Qormi, tomorrow from 7.30am to 8.15am. Afterwards, a funeral cortège leaves the old church of St Sebastian for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Secretary of the Augustinian Missions, Paceville, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CARUANA MONTALDO. On August 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, aged 91, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Antoinette Spiteri, her brother Oscar and his wife Rosa, her sister-in-law Nuala, her many nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30am for St Julian’s parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Maltese Jesuit Province, Naxxar, will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

PARIS. On August 20, MARY, née Caruana, aged 83, wife of the late Dr Peppi Paris, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Anna and her husband Michael Chetcuti Bonavita, Peter and his wife Maria, Patricia, Marie and her husband Nicolo Baldacchino Orland, Michael and his wife Tina, John and his wife Jane, her grandchildren and great-grandson, her brother Anthony and his wife Cynthia, other relatives and friends and her devoted carer Jeanette and other helpers. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and all the staff at M6 and the Day Care Unit at Mater Dei, and her family doctor Dr Stefan Fenech, for their constant care and dedication. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for St. Gregory’s parish church in Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. PULLICINO. On August 20, Notary Dr Paul, aged 93, at Saint James Hospital, Sliema, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife Mary, née Galea, his children, Andrew and his wife Myriam, Anne and her husband Anthony Rutter Giappone and Claire and her husband Francis Lanfranco, his grandchildren Philip, Chiara and Ives, Nicola and Malcolm, Louise, Karen and Matthew, Sarah and Ian, Michael, Peter and his six great-grandchildren, his sisters Georgina O’Connell, Anne Agius Ferrante and Josephine Burridge, his dedicated carer Jelina, besides relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves St James Hospital on Saturday, August 23, at 9.15am for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by internment in the family vault of the Carmelite Priory, Mdina. SCERRI. On August 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN of Paola, residing in Marsascala, aged 66, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Dorothy, his daughters Sharon and Melanie, his grandchildren Gary, Amy, Lennon and Kyra, his brothers and sisters Alfred, Salv, Joe, M’Anne, in-laws and their respective families, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.45am for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. STAINES. On August 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, MURIEL, passed away peacefully, aged 90, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is deeply mourned by her brothers Bobby and Patrick, her sisters Geraldine and Margaret, her in-laws Liliana and Marcella, her nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 9.30am at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. Interment will follow in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May God, in His infinite mercy, grant her eternal rest.
