It beggars belief that John Guillaumier can be so wilfully, genuinely and frighteningly ignorant of his own words and beliefs.

Firstly because his letter ‘Unanswered prayers’ was a replica of ‘The futility of prayer’ just three weeks before in another paper. Secondly, because he had already brought up the subject in September last year. Mission accomplished on his part.

On both occasions, he had an adequate reply but instead of taking his foot off the pedal he insists on his unstoppable drive and chutzpah to stick to his guns rendering his ‘profane comedy of letters’ into just vain petulant repetitions.

No wonder that another correspondent’s use of “incense in churches” censorship has been followed by Guillaumier’s hate of bells. That’s entertainment! On with the motley! I hope that calling Guillaumier an entertainer with a calculated gusto (in another paper) is taken in good spirit.

My genuine wish is for him to embrace the peaceful sound of silence and drop his pen.
