The recently launched TransLog logo designed by BPC.

Translog Awards has launched the logo for its first edition, being held later this year, which will recognise the achievements of companies and individuals operating in transport and logistics in, from, or to Malta,

The logo is composed of a metamorphosis of the Maltese cross, each part forming a graphic, namely the red delta wing (air transportation); the grey bow of a ship (maritime transhipment) and blue shapes representing hills (overland transport).

TransLog is being organised by Support and Supply Management Group (SSM), which operates offices in Malta, the UK and the United Arab Emirates, and BPC International Limited, which is responsible for sponsorship management, branding, media communications, event organisation and planning.

The transport, logistics and supply chain sector offers employment for about 25,000 employees. The event is supported by HSBC Bank Malta.

Participation in the awards is free of charge. The deadline for participation is August 28. The awards ceremony will be held in October.

MSV Life selects Munich Re/Allfinanz software

MSV Life will be using Allfinanz Interview Server software from Munich Re Automation Solutions Ltd to speed up new business growth and improve customer acquisition and service.

The software is expected to be in use by year-end.

“We are replacing old technologies that barriered web-based sign-ups, added steps, and pushed up costs,” said MSV chief executive David Curmi.

“We chose the server because of its international reputation as the easiest to use and most flexible underwriting rules engine for life insurers. AIS enables agile responses, safe and profitable rule changes, clear what-ifs, and flexible reporting.”
