The Malta summer vibe is definitely there in Shake, the latest single to be released by Red Electrick, one of Malta’s most eclectic bands.
Complemented by an eclectic video, the focus is on fun and experimentation, with the band’s trademark sound taking on a carefree, energetic vibe.
Shake is one of the songs from the band’s third album, which is scheduled for release shortly. With this track, which was also written by the band members, Red Electrick cites influences like Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Maroon 5, Capital Cities and Pharrell Williams.
The result is a bit of a different sound to what regular followers are used to. In the band members’ words: “We felt like experimenting and we enjoyed the result. We experimented in the studio keeping the band sound alive, via the guitar sound and picked bass. The track is very bass driven, with layered vocals.”
The band has been firing up the Maltese airwaves in recent years with a brace of tracks and charged live performances. The band is made up of Matthew James Borg, Peter Borg, Ivan Borg, Jonas Delicata and Raphael Tonna. The video for Shake was produced by Matthew James Borg and Red Electrick.
