Rekik: Defender Karim Rekik has had his loan from Manchester City to PSV Eindhoven extended for another season. The 19-year-old played 25 games for PSV last season and was one of 30 players pre-selected for the World Cup by Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal but cut from the final 23-man squad for the tournament in Brazil. Rekik is available for PSV’s second game of the new Dutch league season against NAC Breda today.

Sanchez: Aston Villa have signed Colombia’s World Cup midfielder Carlos Sanchez from La Liga club Elche on a four-year contract. According to media reports, Villa paid a transfer fee of around five million pounds for the 28-year-old. Sanchez, who played four times for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, had one season at Elche after joining from French side Valenciennes.

Bendtner: Wolfsburg have signed former Arsenal forward and free agent Nicklas Bendtner on a three-year contract. The Denmark international left Arsenal at the end of last season after a nine-year period that also included three loan spells at Juventus, Sunderland and Birmingham City. After four years at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, Torres moved to Olympiakos where he made 10 appearances last season as they won the Greek title.
