On National Chocolate Éclair Day in June, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts launched its first global éclair programme in partner-ship with award-winning pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini.

The franchise is offering guests modern twists on the chic Parisian treat, including both classic flavours as well as unique creations inspired by the locality.

The hotels are hosting on-site events, programmes and special offerings, including do-it-your-self tutorials with resident pastry chefs to regular éclair hours for guests to sample seasonal creations.

Over the next 12 months, Iuzzini will create eight signature éclair recipes exclusively for the franchise, inspired by a global tour of Le Méridien destinations.

Éclair Diaries kicked off in San Francisco on July 10 where the chef started his motorcycle trip to uncover local flavours and find inspir ation for his future recipes.

As part of this initiative Le Méridien St Julian’s hosted various cooking sessions throughout July, led by executive head chef Reuben Grixti.

Éclairs are on the menu all day at KuDéTa Lounge & Bar and are also available for take-away.

On offer are classic éclairs with coffee, chocolate or vanilla fillings, and also more creative ones such as chocolate and tahini éclair or orange and cinnamon-infused ricotta éclair.

Patrons can participate in this experience by posting photos of their delicious eclairs on social media using #LMeclairs.
