The Delicata Classic Wine Festival, Malta’s greatest wine event is back for its 13th year. The festival is being held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7pm until midnight.
Entrance is free but if you want to drink wine, you just purchase a wristband and a souvenir glass for €12 (which is then yours to keep) and try as many of the wines on offer as you like, as often as you like. The last glasses will be sold at 11pm with the last wine poured at 11.30pm before the festival closes at midnight. No glasses will be sold or alcohol poured to anyone under the age of 17.
The Upper Barrakka Gardens lift will be in operation each night until 1.00am at its normal cost and there will be car parking available opposite the entrance to the lift on the waterfront quay, at a flat rate of €3 per car.
Three weeks later, on August 29, 30 and 31, the festival is happening again in Nadur.
