A word game enthusiast who has been trying his luck since it was launched in the early 1990s has finally hit the jackpot.
Joseph Saliba of Żurrieq will be jetting off to Cyprus with Emirates after winning two economy class tickets in the last word-game series. He only missed out participating in the word game a few times.
Mr Saliba, an avid Times of Malta reader since 1971 and who admits it is like losing an arm if he does not have a copy of the newspaper, was presented with the tickets by Emirates’ Malta manager, Paul Fleri Soler and Times of Malta sales manager Alex Galea.
The flight to Cyprus, an island steeped in history, is just over two hours on the Emirates’ Boeing 777.
The game now running sees the winner receiving a Vodafone Smart 4G mobile worth €199. The phone, the first 4G/LTE edition in the Smart family, boasts a slim design with the biggest display in the Smart family range.
The series ends on August 9.
