Those walking along the upper seafront at Ta’ Xbiex Terrace are unable to use the pavement, from the point opposite Villa Brigadoon to the Italian ambassador’s residence, because it is always occupied by people on deckchairs, mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. One can also see chairs and tables there too.

Others park their cars on double yellow lines and leave the vehicle doors open while having their evening meals, dirtying the area with rubbish and leftovers. This, of course, attracts rats and mosquitoes.

The pavement, it should be noted, is less than 90 cm wide.

The end result is that pedestrians risk life and limb when passing between parked vehicles.

This should not be tolerated and law enforcement agents should see to it that such obstructions do not take place.
