A 54-year-old man was accused in court today of having attempted to injure a policeman when he drove his truck at him last Sunday.

The incident happened when the man, Gregory Stellini, was booked when he argued with the officer who was stopping access to a road in Sannat because of the village feast.

Mr Stellini was also accused of driving negligently and ignoring police orders.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3000.
