Former Zabbar Mayor Quinton Scerri has filed a judicial protest against the Director of Local Government insisting the Local Governance Board was not properly constituted when it issued a critical report about his performance, leading to his resignation.
In his protest, Mr Scerri said the board was formed of a chairman and a member after the second member, Ronniel Pellegrini, was excluded and did not sign the report.
In a statement, Mr Scerri said the board’s report was unfair and aimed at harming his reputation and forcing his resignation.
He said he would institute legal action to clear his name.
NEW COUNCILLOR ELECTED
Meanwhile, Joseph Agius was this morning elected to take the seat on Zabbar council vacated with the resignation of Mr Scerri.
The Electoral Commission held a casual election this morning.
