The book was launched at the Centro de Formación Sindical 1er de Mayo, of the Confederación Sindical de Comisiones Obreras del país Valenciano inside the old part of the city of Valencia, close to the Serrans gate. The session was addressed by Miguel Angel Vera, secretary general of the Federación de Enseñanza de Comisiones Obreras, and Pep Aparicio Guadas from the IPF-España and editor of the book series ‘sendas y travesías del pensamiento’, with the proceedings in Castellano. The author provided an overview of the book contents.

The IPF-España has published other books by Mayo in both Catalan and Castellano, most recently the jointly authored, award–winning (C. Houle Award, 2013) book with Leona English, Learning with Adults. A Critical Pedagogical Introduction. The same applied to his earlier Gramsci, Freire and Adult Education, published in both Castellano and Catalan and his co-edited volume, with Professors Carmel Borg and Joseph A. Buttigieg, Gramsci and Education. His 2004 book Liberating Praxis. Paulo Freire Radical Approach to Education and Politics was published in Catalan.

While in Valencia, Mayo conducted a three-day workshop on Learning with Adults. The Role of Practice in the formation of Adults as part of the summer school organised by the IPF-España in concert with the CCOO-Valencia. The paper he wrote, to serve as background reading for the workshop, was published in Catalan in the journal Quaderns de Educació Contínua.
