Bakayoko: Rennes midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete a move to Monaco. The 19-year-old has made a big impact in his debut season at Rennes, making 29 appearances to catch the eye of the Ligue 1 runners-up. “Monaco is gaining momentum in France and worldwide,” Bakayoko said. “This is a good thing... a new challenge.”

Besic: Everton appear to be on the brink of announcing their second summer signing after Gareth Barry as Ferencvaros midfielder Muha-med Besic has joined the Toffees on a pre-season trip to Thailand. Besic, 21, represented Bosnia in the World Cup and has been a target for Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

Ehiogu: Tottenham appointed former Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu as the club’s new U-21 coach. The 41-year-old will be assisted by Matthew Wells, who is a former Spurs youth player. This week, Tottenham announced former captain Ledley King has also been handed a role with the academy on a part-time basis.

Scocco: Sunderland striker Ignacio Scocco has completed his move back to former club Newell’s Old Boys. The 29-year-old has returned to Argentina following a short spell on Wearside. Scocco joined the club from Brazilian outfit Internacional for £3.2m in January, and is understood to have left for slightly less after failing to score in his eight appearances for the Black Cats. A club statement said: “Scocco, who joined Sunderland in January, has signed a five-year deal with the South American club for an undisclosed fee.”

Kiyotake: Hanover have signed Japan international Hiroshi Kiyo-take from relegated Nuremberg. The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Lower Saxony club, joining just a day after they captured Ceyhun Gulselam from Galatasaray. Kiyotake has already made 64 appearances in Germany’s top flight, scoring seven times. He picked up his 26th cap for Japan during the World Cup, featuring in the group fixture against Colombia.
