Part of Aldo Moro Road in Marsa, the Marsa/Hamrun bypass in Qormi and the Mriehel bypass will be closed to traffic between 9 and 11pm tomorrow and from 6 to 9pm on Sunday due to the Sta Venera feast celebrations, the police said.

Earlier, the police had said the roads would be closed from 9am to 11pm on Saturday and from 7 to 9pm on Sunday. They had also said that the whole of Aldo Moro would be closed whereas now only the hill leading to the Marsa/Hamrun Bypass will be.

In a post on Facebook, the police said the stretch of road leading to Regional Road from il-Kappillan Mifsud Street Hamrun, will be closed to traffic.

Northbound traffic on Regional Road will be diverted to Railway Road, Birkirkara, or il-Kappilan Mifsud Street, Hamrun.

Northbound traffic exiting Dun Karm Street, known as the Birkirkara bypass, Msida, will be diverted to Msida.

The exit to Regional Road from the Msida Skate Park Roundabout will be closed to traffic and traffic exiting in-Negozju and il-Kaccaturi streets, Qormi, towards the Marsa/Hamrun Bypass will be diverted.

Last weekend, thousands of motorists faced frustrating delays as traffic was diverted because of the Msida feast and fireworks.
