The planning authority plans to enhance its one stop shop concept in the coming months, making the procedure and system for applying for a development permit simpler and cheaper, it said this morning.
Mepa said in a statement that instead of having to apply for different clearances at different government departments to get development permission, it would be possible to apply at one source with one payment.
Through the new development planning legislation, a fast track application system would also be introduced, whereby development applications that conformed to a set of policy criteria within the development zone would be approved within a short period of time.
The information was given during the launch of information campaign aimed at making start up and established businesses aware of the sustainable planning and development benefits, Businessence.
