Time lapse video filmed on the eighth day of the Costa Concordia re-float operation has caught storm clouds floating menacingly over the ship.

The video filmed from 10am GMT on Monday until 6am GMT yesterday shows salvage workers moving around the ship and cleaning the prow overnight. The prow was raised from the water on Monday.

A storm hit Giglio island in the early hours of yesterday morning and impressive cloud formations can be seen in the video.

The original plan to tow the wreck away was yesterday morning, but the departure date has been pushed back until today giving salvage workers additional hours to ensure everything is ready.

The Concordia's last journey to a port in Genoa is expected to take four to five days.
