The United Nations should be willing to take a courageous step to strengthen safety in Libya soon, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said today following a meeting with UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

During the meeting, the two Prime Ministers discussed how they could work together with the international community for a solution in the north African state.

He said that both countries believed that the next 72 hours were very important for Libya as the new leaders were to be appointed.

Safety in Libya was crucial for Malta investment wise, for humanitarian reasons and because of illegal migration.
