A man was today acquitted of breaking his aunt’s arm after she threw a bowl of urine at him during an argument.

Terence Zahra, 30, of Marsascala, was charged with seriously injuring Maria Liberata Gatt in September 2012, after they argued about sewage that was allegedly seeping from his property to hers.

On the day of the incident, Ms Gatt reported the seepage to the Health Department and her nephew went to her house where he allegedly swore at her.

The court heard she then went inside, grabbed a bowl she used to collect the seeping urine in and threw the contents at Mr Zahra.

But while Ms Gatt said that her nephew then pushed her to the ground, he insisted that she slipped as she turned to go back inside.

She fractured her arm in the fall.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri noted that Ms Gatt’s version was not corroborated by any of the witnesses who testified.
