The Malta Football Association (MFA) annual general meeting will be staged at the Grand Hotel Excelsior today.

Among the first topics at the assembly, starting at 5pm, will be the approval of the 2013 annual general meeting minutes and also the proceedings of extraordinary general meetings that followed in September and April.

Officials will also be asked to give their consent to the 2013-14 administrative report and the audited accounts and financial report for the football season just ended.

With the top brass in the Malta FA Executive Committee still in their first of a three-year term, the only vote held today will be to elect two officials to represent member clubs in general.

Nominations for the other slots available in the executive committee have already been submitted by the respective standing committees representing clubs and organisations, but there are seven candidates for the remaining two berths to complete the set-up.

Paul Spiteri (Valletta) and Chris Grech (Mosta) will be replaced by exco newcomers Redino Apap (Qormi) and Adrian Delia (Birkirkara) as ordinary members representing Premier League clubs for 2014-15.

However, both Spiteri and Grech will be vying for the two vacancies left in today’s election at the Excelsior.

The other five contestants will be Stephen Abela (Hibernians), Michael Cutajar (St George’s), Mauro Miceli (Swieqi United), Joseph Sammut (Pietà Hotspurs) and Johan Vella (Sta Venera Lightnings).
