Three swimmers who found themselves in difficulty were over the weekend assisted by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps lifeguards at the Blue Lagoon in Comino and Ramla Bay in Gozo.

On Saturday, lifeguards assisted a tired foreign swimmer in his late forties. He was dragged ashore and first aid was administered.

Yesterday, lifeguards assisted another swimmer who dislocated his shoulder. He was taken to Mgarr Harbour by a hydro ambulance and on to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. Both swimmers were at the Blue Lagoon.

At Ramla Bay, lifeguards assisted a French woman for suspected spinal injuries after she slipped on rocks and hit her back. She was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance.
