The HP Slatebook 14 is an upcoming laptop from computer giant Hewlett Packard. We don’t know a great deal about it right now as HP has only just officially released it.

The laptop has a 14-inch screen and runs the Android operating system. This is all packaged in a slim, modern-looking laptop chassis in a cool yellow with three USB ports, a MicroSD port, HDMI port and stereo speakers.

The Slatebook has a quad-core Nvidia Tegra processor, a 1080p touchscreen, 2Gb of RAM and 16Gb of internal storage. The HP Slatebook 14 is being pitched as a convenient way to get more out of your Android apps. We have known for a while that Android laptops were on the cards for HP and other manufacturers. Even Intel’s former CEO Paul Otellini predicted that shifting to the OS could help manufacturers lower production costs and bring us decent laptops at a much lower price point.

Indeed, this isn’t HP’s first attempt at an Android machine. The Slatebook x2 was released last year and was a 10-inch tablet that was derided by the press. It was small, had buggy software, poor battery life and an awkward keyboard. While we can see that the keyboard issue has been addressed, we hope the software and battery life have also.
