The Fujifilm X-T1 is a pro quality digital camera system with a real retro look. Built for enthusiasts who prize quality and style, this DLSR-style camera is definitely one to consider.

This camera has serious potential. It doesn’t hurt that it’s wrapped in a classic film camera style with hard shell, manual controls and is water- and dust-resistant too.

Hardware highlights include APS-C format 16.3 million-pixel X Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor and a 2.36 million-dot electronic viewfinder with a refresh rate of 54fps and a response time of just 0.005 seconds.

It also boasts a 2.36m dot resolution OLED electronic viewfinder with the world’s highest magnification of 0.77x and a lag-time of just 0.005 seconds, hybrid auto-focus, five mechanical dials and six customisable function buttons.

Hardware and specs aside, what does the Fujifilm X-T1 feel like to use? The magnesium alloy case feels strong and reliable, the moulded edge sits nicely in the hand and there is a reassuring heft to the entire package.

The EVF is superb. You can change picture quality in real time, the refresh rate is super-fast and the new central position works well. Even purists who don’t like EVF will struggle to fault this one.

The camera delivers clear shots that are rich in colour, contrast and detail.

Fujifilm X-T1 has excellent pedigree and we challenge any enthusiast photographer to find any significant fault with it.
