The board set up by the Education Minister to investigate the Skolasajf and Klabb 3-16 fiasco was just an excuse by the minister to avoid political responsibilities and shift the blame on public sector employees, the Nationalist Party said.

It said in a statement that Mr Bartolo acted in a similar manner in October when he blamed workers for the decision to stop stipends for “O” level post-secondary students.

The PN said the minister was informed about the problem three weeks before the summer programme was about to start. The reason was the merging of Skolasajf with Klabb 3-16, a political decision taken two months before the programme was due to start.

The decision was taken by the minister so he should shoulder responsibility.
