The change from a public corporation to a company signals a move to privatise Enemalta and the electricity sector, Alternattiva Demokratika claimed yesterday

AD energy spokesman Ralph Cassar said: “Despite all his rhetoric and promises Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is treating Enemalta workers in the same way PN had treated shipyard workers in the recent past. Dr Muscat says one thing and does the opposite.”

Mr Cassar said there were various unanswered questions regarding the new company such as the influence of the new shareholders on the government’s energy policy.

He said it was shameful that the GWU was taking a “servile attitude” towards Dr Muscat instead of defending the interests of its members.
