Gozo has always had an efficient bus service and I don’t want it to degenerate due to a lack of common sense.

Last Sunday I was on bus 301 going from the Mġarr ferry to Victoria, along with many other passengers. The bus arrived at the Victoria bus terminus and the passengers started to get off. Next to our bus there was bus number 308 destined for Ta’ Pinu and the driver suddenly reversed and drove off while passengers from Bus 301 where still getting out.

Surely the driver could have waited another minute until all the passengers left the bus? Perhaps some of these passengers would have liked to get on board bus 308 for Ta’ Pinu? That was my intention as well as what a French couple would have liked to do.

We then had to wait another hour for the next bus trip to Ta’ Pinu. I hope that duty dispatchers on site will see that such things do not happen again and that common sense prevails.

We should not allow such incidents to tarnish the good reputation of the Gozo bus service.
