The relic of St George’s arm was taken to Xewkija parish church after a stop at Tal-Ħniena chapel.

Bishop Mario Grech, together with the clergy of St George’s parish, later welcomed the relic at the crossroads in Republic Street, Victoria, from where it was taken to St George’s basilica, accompanied by La Stella Band playing religious hymns.

In St George’s Square, archpriest Paul Cardona delivered an address, followed by a solemn ecumenical vigil presided by the bishop, Gennadios Zervos, metropolitan of the Greek Orthodox archdiocese of Italy and Malta, and Can Simon Godfrey, chancellor of the Anglican communion of Malta and Gozo.
