• Before entering an off-premises contract, consumers should be informed of their right to withdraw.

• The 14 days’ cancellation period starts from the moment the consumer takes possession of the ordered goods.

• In off-premises contracts the seller is obliged to collect back the goods at his own expense if by their nature the goods cannot be returned by post.

• The burden of proof of having cancelled an off-premises sale within the stipulated time-limit is on the consumer.

• Consumers must be reimbursed within 14 days from the day the trader is informed of the cancellation.

• In off-premises contracts payment should be made on delivery of the goods.

• The off-premises seller may ask the consumer to pay a depost of up to 10 per cent of the price of the product or service after the cancellation period of 14 days expires.
